Lights up on empty stage

          (spoken) But where is Andy? Oh dear children, Andy is nowhere to be found.

Lawyer enters

Oh look. Here comes Looby Lawyer; they’ll know what to do.

Lawyer looks around

It looks like you’ve got some special papers for Andy.

Lawyer nods

Is he playing hide and seek?

Lawyer nods. Then goes to the desk and lifts the cloth. Andy is hiding under the desk.

          There he is. Andy likes getting into tight spaces.

Andy gets out and stretches

          Now he needs a nice, long stretch… Don’t drop the soap, Andy.

Andy picks up a giftbox that was also under the table.

          Why Andy, what do you have there? Oh, look at that. Andy loves a little box. But who is it for?

Andy holds it out for the lawyer to take

Isn’t that nice children? It’s a present. I wonder what’s inside. (sings) What’s in the box? What’s in the box? Andy will soon be up in the docks.

Lawyer looks at the box and shakes his he. He holds out his papers. Andy shakes his head and gestures at the giftbox.

(spoken) You’ve both got presents for each other, how lovely. It doesn’t always have to be someone’s birthday to get a present. Is it your favourite toy, Andy?

Andy shakes his head

No, it’s not vibrating. Is it what we spoke about earlier?

Andy nods and removes the lid. Lawyer peers in the box and looks disturbed.

Oh dear. Naughty Andy. When we said ‘jack in the box’ that’s not what we meant.

Lawyer places paper on desk and leaves

Oh dear. I don’t think Looby Lawyer liked your present Andy.

Andy sits

Don’t been downhearted Andy. Why don’t you stand back up and we’ll do the marching song?

Andy shakes his head.

I wonder if he’ll stand. Do you think he’ll stand, children? He likes his chair. Is he going to get off?

Andy stands

Of course he is.

Andy smiles

That’s right Andy, keep your end up…Why don’t you go and play with your favourite toy? That will cheer you up.

Andy starts to leave

Wave goodbye to Andy children. Bye, bye Andy. Don’t worry children, Andy will be coming again very soon.
